Time to think

September 14, 2009

I’ve been laid up in bed for a week after a minor op and subsequently experienced a rare and wonderful thing. Uninterrupted time to ponder aspects of my life, my work, my friends, the world (quite a biggie). And have come to the conclusion that life today is madness! Not just for me but for all concerned. The pace that we ┬álive our lives and the stress we are under is unprecedented, seems to be a lot of “uns” in this blog. I was sleeping on average 16 hours a day, I mean I know healing requires sleep but 16 hours! I have decided to take a break from my stressed self. No more flying around from place to place. No more grabbing things to eat at lunchtime. No more eating lunch at my bench or in my car. No more setting myself unrealistic time frames within which to complete work. In short no more madness, self induced luckily enough. Time to dream, time to nurture my creativity, time to listen to myself and those around me. Time to look around and see beauty instead of things to worry about. Simplify, relaxation, nature. I’m feeling calm again and wish to keep this feeling for as long as possible. Care to join me?
